Hello,

I bought this statue a while ago and I didn't manage to find out which material is used. I thought it might be marble but I'm not experienced. I hope somebody can tell me something about the material, artist( there is an inscription), age etc. You would help me alot!

there are clear air bubbles on the piece especially on the base around the edge. this suggests its plaster.
Take a needle and scrape the base. If powder comes of it is plaster or something similar. If not then it maybe some sort of cast resin or similar.
If it was marble or other stone there wouldnt be air bubbles. If cast plaster then it would be mass produced, probably in china

Could be a cast stone product rather than gypsum plaster: maybe white portland cement & stone dust, or resin & stone dust.
