Geemon Xin Meng

Geemon Xin Meng is the Director of the Vancouver Sculpture Studio. As a professional sculptor trained in classical sculpture methods, his work is in the tradition of figurative sculpture. He focuses on developing a mastery of the medium while imbuing each sculpture with his own personal and modern vision. He studied at the Fine Art & Design Central Academy of Beijing and immigrated to Canada in 2004. With over 25 years of experience as a sculptor, he has worked in a broad range of media clay, fiberglass, marble, stainless steel, hammered copper, and bronze creating both figurative and abstract works. A prolific artist with exceptional technical skill and vision, his commissioned work ranges from life-size portraits to the design, creation, and supervision of monumental public artworks. His current work is a series of highly emotive figurative heads; a personal interpretation of the human condition. Geemons work has been shown in solo and group exhibits internationally.
