Frank Rekrut

Frank Rekrut (Sculptor) and his wife Laura Thompson (painter) have enjoyed their work in the decorative and fine arts for 25 years. While they still maintain a studio in the beautiful Niagara region of Canada, they made a decision to open a second studio in the historic center of Florence, Italy in 2010. The creative atmosphere of Florence, the contrast of modern in each design, the historical architecture and Renaissance art all provide constant inspiration for new works. Their art reflects the solid foundation of their classical realist atelier training and education in the 19th century French academic method while also allowing for many forms of expression and styles in a variety of subjects.
