Marlena H Nielsen

Marlena Nielsen has been a figurative sculptor since 1989. Her initial venue was focused on designing porcelain dolls for her reproduction porcelain doll business, Real People Dolls. She also spent several years contract sculpting for the Danbury Mint. Her molds were distributed throughout the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. In a process of reinvention, Marlena now seeks to take her figurative sculpting skills to bronze. Her focus in bronze is on commemorative, historic and cultural groups and individuals with a story that she feels is important to recognize and remember. Marlena appreciates the unique way in which sculpture impacts individuals and communities by stimulating curiosity which nurtures learning, community, understanding, acceptance and growth.
